Michael E. Long
Michael Long received his Juris
Doctor
degree
from Emory University School of Law in 2000, and his B.S.B.A, summa cum
laude, from Hawaii Pacific University in 1995. In law school, he served
on the Board of Directors of the Emory Law School Moot Court Society as
the Coordinating Director, was the President of the Emory Federalist
Society, and was selected as a National Member of The Order of
Barristers. He is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. District
Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of
Appeals, Eleventh Circuit.
Michael Long has a broad array of general
liability,
medical malpractice, and insurance coverage defense litigation
experience. His general liability experience includes
premises
liability, construction defects, automobile accidents,
uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, homeowners insurance
litigation, and declaratory actions on behalf of insurance carriers to
determine their rights and duties pursuant to insurance policies.
Michael’s medical malpractice experience includes the defense of
hospitals, physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other medical
professionals against claims of medical malpractice. Michael also
represents physicians and other medical professionals in their
interactions with the Department of Health.
Michael Long is a member of the
Florida Bar
Association, Orange County Bar Association, Trial Lawyers section of
the Florida Bar, Florida Defense Lawyers Association and Defense
Research Institute. As to DRI, he is a member of its
Insurance Law,
Medical Liability and Health Care Law Committees.
